著者简介

亨利·保尔森，美国前财政部长，入主财政部之前曾担任高盛集团的总裁。

1946年，保尔森生于美国中西部，在一个小镇的农场长大。1964年就读于达特茅斯大学，是美国常春藤名校最佳橄榄球手之一。大四时，保尔森认识了温迪，温迪后来成为保尔森的夫人。1968年，保尔森进入哈佛大学商学院，获MBA学位。尼克松担任美国总统期间，保尔森出任总统幕僚助理和白宫内务委员会成员。

保尔森是做销售出身，大部分时间都在跟人打交道包括打电话，这本回忆录也是根据通话记录写的，就像流水账，不像伯南克有一定的理论。伯南克的《The Courage to Act》主要看的是联储紧急提供流动性、降息和QE，但金融危机最后能稳定，主要靠的是TARP，这方面就是财长去和国会争...
