This volume is a selection of articles originally published in Chinese convering all major topics in cultural studies such as gender studies, media studies and popular culture and literary writing. It also includes additional articles by both domestic and overseas Chinese scholars.

Tao Dongfeng obtained his PhD from Beijing Normal University and is now Professor of Chinese and Literary theory at the Capital Normal University of Beijing.

Jin Yuanpu obtained his PhD from Renmin University of China. He is Professor of Chinese and Literary Theory and executive director of the Center for Humanistic Olympic studies at Renmin university.
