Daisy s eyes in the starlight regarded Misha with an

expression he was unable to fathom. It s strange how

one grows out of one kind of love and comes to want

something so different. Daisy knew that he found her

lovely, though vulnerable. Did he wonder what lay

behind her sweet, sympathetic face? Was it her youth

that touched him? He moved toward her. a wave of

tenderness mingling with the warmth of desire.
