This is a surprisingly sophisticated needlepoint book by old time movie star Sylvia Sidney. Tidbits of her career are interspersed with the story of her journey to becoming an advanced needlepointer. There are black and white photos and directions for various stitches and techniques but no patterns. Color photos of her beloved pug dogs, the St. Francis of Assisi prayer, wonderful crab and frog pillows, and an intricate woodland scene will inspire. Recommended for its historical value.
