著者简介

Alex Michaelides was born in Cyprus to a Greek-Cypriot father and English mother. He has a MA in English Literature from Cambridge University and a MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. The Silent Patient is his first novel.

Brilliant！巧妙地利用了章节间的衔接和切换，混淆了不同故事线之间的时间线，成功保持悬疑和神秘到最后。看到后面大呼“中计啦”的就是我。被糊弄了呢，却又很开心，哈哈哈哈，怕就怕糊弄不到读者的悬疑作品。用有句港剧常用台词总结就是——神又系你，鬼又系你！“Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive，and will come forth later，in uglier ways.”所以情绪一定要得到有效的发泄，屈埋屈埋就会屈出病来。喜欢小说里用的Alcestis这个冷门的希腊神话，不过抛开小说单从神话本身来说，我跟作者理解得有点不一样，我理解Alcestis的沉默偏向于哀莫大于心死，而不是murderous rage。

近几年看过叙述最棒的故事之一读完很想找人讲话又感觉像题目里的女主角一样哑口无言跟“gone girl”大卖之后成堆出现的俗套“心理悬疑/人格分裂”类妖艳贱货很不一样 this debut novel is fresh, bone-chilling, meticulous, and disturbingly good. 每一章都很短你会一直跟自己说just one more chapter然后完全放不下来到后半部分你觉得在震惊里经历了“ah ha”moment之后结尾还有更强大的反转等着你整个叙事和句式风格明明都很easy 但读完让你感觉deeply uneasy 推荐给想读个好故事、但不介意情感上有几天包袱的人

Alcestis这个古希腊悲剧的设定棒呆，揭露了关于Alicia的部分真相，又完全掩盖住了Theo这个部分。看书的前半部分感觉自己都要变成Alicia了，总觉得哪里不对，可是说又说不出来……到最后几章揭露真相的时候只有Bone-chilling能形容我的感受。看完以后就只想说：卧槽，我就说感觉前面哪里有问题嘛，原来是这样！！！！

如果喜欢看thriller，最后这个twist其实并不难猜。而且尽管作者有努力去justify，但人物动机还是完全不make sense。

国庆期间，一天半把这本书看完了，做晚看到夜里2点。作者很聪明，最开始给你铺了一个很大的谜团，Gabriel被枪杀了，Alicia从此不开口了，没人知道那晚发生了什么。作为读者的我就一步一步跟随着作者去找寻答案。既然我已经开始了，我就需要知道答案。这大概就是人类的好奇心吧...
