Howard L. Nixon II is Professor and Chair, Department of Sociology and Anthropology, at Towson State University. James H. Frey is Professor and Chair, Department of Sociology, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In addition to this book, they have written a wide range of reports on their research of sports and have published articles in such journals as Sociology of Sport Journal, Journal of Sport and Social issues, and Deviant Behavior. Both authors have served as president of the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport.
