喜欢 The Color Purple 的读者还喜欢

上来就强奸乱伦的让我有点受不了。文字也太真实太那个年代的黑人感觉了，也让我不舒服。不过表达了女权啊反抗了歧视啊什么的应该是个挺“不朽”那感觉的作品。

Celie asked for a purple skirt the first time someone asked her to choose. And finally she owned a room purple, her own. Life played a joke on her. But she got through with God and her beloved ones. This book got me see the other side of black people's lives and let me know that hatred does no good but love brings all peace and hope.

Alice Walker在妹妹这个角色上似乎投射了自己的立场，她的作用似乎游离出叙事体之外成了一种人为的政治化努力。但她的段落是这部无比真挚动情的、总体上十分成功的小说里唯一的弱点。我想书中的情感应大部分归功于作者聪明而高效的叙事方式，这种私密的、近乎祈祷式的讲述成为了读者同理心的源泉。一个女人从苦难中慢慢走来，最后在周遭的树木天空星光和人群里找到了主。故事结束于和解与团圆，我想这种乐观主义是以黑人和妇女为代表的弱者群体的原始的、质朴的、也迫切需要的智慧。
