This research focuses on the transnationalism of PRC “domestic overseas Chinese” and how did the state’s, both of the central and the local level, policies toward them during the long 1950s. All in all, these policies were based on the national interests of PRC. Almost all the cases in this research were Guangdong’s, including Hainan island.
