肖恩·霍默希臘城市大學媒體研究係的高級講師。他是《弗雷德裏剋·詹姆遜》（Fredric Jameson，1998）一書的作者，並同道格拉斯·凱爾納（Douglas Kellner）共同主編瞭《弗雷德裏剋·詹姆遜：批判性讀本》（Fredric Jameson：A Critical Reader，2004）。

作為一個介紹拉康的小冊子，寫得如此清晰明白是不是不應該……？看完瞭之後看拉康還是看不懂啊。如果需要涉及或者想要瞭解拉康，這本書會有很大幫助：作者花不少篇幅來講拉康在文化研究、電影研究、文學批評等領域如何産生影響。
