My first try on Sedaris. It's OK but I doubt if I'll read another one of his works. Maybe he's just not funny enough, for most of the episodes are rather obvious, such as the Satan plot and the racial incident. The whole mood is right but everything is too bland to be really entertaining. Well, what would a humorist be if he's not properly funny?

Sorry...it's just that I've never experienced Christmas and haven't seen many elves or santas, so I can't really relate to the scenes in it. Maybe westerns will appreciate it more, I know Sedaris is a genius humorist. I just don't find this has-been-catalogued-in-humor book that humorous.
