著者簡介

哈金

本名金雪飛，1956年齣生於中國遼寧省。曾在中國人民解放軍中服役五年。在校主攻英美文學，1982年畢業於黑龍江大學英語係，1984年獲山東大學英美文學碩士。1985年，赴美留學，並於1992年獲布蘭戴斯大學（Brandeis University）博士學位。現任教於美國波士頓大學。

著有三本詩集：《於無聲處》（Between Silence）、《麵對陰影》（Facing Shadows）和《殘骸》（Wreckage）；另外有三本短篇小說集：《光天化日》、《好兵》和《新郎》；五部長篇小說：《池塘》、《等待》、《戰廢品》、《瘋狂》、《自由生活》。短篇小說集《好兵》獲得1997年「美國筆會／海明威獎」。他的長篇小說《等待》獲得瞭1999年美國「國傢書捲獎」和2000年「美國筆會／福剋納小說獎」，為第一位同時獲此兩項美國文學獎的中國作傢。

《新郎》一書獲得兩獎項：亞裔美國文學獎，及 The Townsend Prize 小說獎。《等待》一書則已譯成二十多國語言。《戰廢品》一書入選2004年《紐約時報》十大好書。

A Free Life 这本书国内不敢翻译引进，早就想读，找到英文版之后，十天读完。与英语是母语的作家相比，哈金的作品相对易读。一是因为他用的句式简洁，词汇也并不复杂；二是书中很多关于中国、艺术、诗歌的论述我并不陌生，背景知识有助于迅速理解文中人物的心理和处境。这是...
