To make, as it were, a complete graphic representation of the film, cut by cut, with the dialogue printed in the proper place in relation to the cuts, so that within the limits of still photos and words, an accurate (and I hope interesting) record of a film might be available… This book represents that attempt.”

著者简介

安东尼•伯吉斯 Anthony Burgess（1917—1993）

英国当代著名文学家、作曲家和文学评论家。早年在大学攻读文学，做过钢琴师，进过情报部门。20世纪60年代被诊断患脑瘤，从此隐居，专事文学创作。后得知脑瘤纯属误诊，但其文学创作一直延续。一生发表作品几十部，以《发表橙》最为著名、最具影响，另著有《尘世种子》、《尘世权利》等。他一直希望被看作会写小说的音乐家，而非会作曲的小说家。
