著者簡介

約翰·伯格（John Berger），英國藝術史傢，小說傢，畫傢。1926年齣生於倫敦。1946年從軍隊退徑後進入Central School of Art Chelsea School of Art學習。1948年至1955年以教授繪畫為業，曾舉辦個人畫展1952年，他開始為倫敦New Statesman雜誌撰稿，並迅速成為英國當代最有影響力的藝術批評傢。此後他更有多部藝術專著問世，如《觀看之道》、《看》、《另一種講述的方式》等，他亦寫小說，名篇G.（1972）獲英國布剋奬及詹姆斯·泰特·布萊剋紀念奬。

最近20年間，伯格一直生活在阿爾插斯山腳下的一個法國小村莊中，瀕臨消亡的傳統山區生活方式令他著迷，並反映在他的作品中。
