反消費主義洗腦、迫使女性重新自我尊重的開山力作，Religion一章尤其振聾發聵。不過同意有讀者認為，一個好意anti-hegemony的compact narrative也有自身局限性與closure的風險。不過瑕不掩瑜。

寫的都很透徹瞭，但遊戲規則依然在，想逆著浪潮走的是勇者，迎著浪平衡規則的也是勇者。要以怎樣的姿態存活？先是接納自我吧…我們缺的是美麗嗎？好像是的。不過更稀缺的是“不美”也自信。

解構世間定義的“美”對女性無處不在的挾持，在齣版近30年後的今天仍振聾發聵。尤其喜歡寫female sexuality的"sex"一章以及寫整形美容的“violence"一章，非常深刻。部分觀點的具體論證似乎不是很令人信服，但總體值得一讀。2018年三八婦女節前夕購於倫敦查令十字街Foyles，Vintage Classics係列。

這不是什麼新鮮的話題認識到審美的社會構建作為個人而言的我們也始終逃不過社會過於嚴肅考究地去對待生活中的事情未必讓人快樂扮靚什麼的隻要自己高興就好接受自己本來的樣子纔是一條齣路吧但是如果誰想瘦十斤我也不阻撓我保持身材也是我的追求
