這本書能用僅僅一百五十頁從bosonic string講到D-brane的大部分要點，而且能做到self-contained（除瞭最後一章）！並且有些細節比Polchinski要好，比如superstring的modular invariance和種類的關係；還有給齣瞭一個具體的D-brane EFT的例子。
